MVA Rollover With Entrapment - Dupont Blvd. & West North Street

On Tuesday, August 17th, 2004, around 2 P.M., the Georgetown Fire Company was dispatched to a serious MVA at the intersection of DuPont Blvd. and West North Street ITAO Mcdonalds. Dispatch advised Assistant Chief Penual Barrett (77-17) that a Durango was overturned on US 113 and the patient was trapped. Upon arrival of 77-17, he confirmed entrapment, requested aviation, and assigned 77-0 with stabilization. In addition, Rescue 77 with Assistant Chief Mark Rogers (77-18) was advised to prepare for extrication upon arrival. 77-18 was the extrication officer and oversaw the stabilization of the vehicle along with the removal of the driver's door. Patient was removed from to vehicle and taken to Ambulance 93 until the arrival of Maryland Trooper 4. A patient from the other vehicle was transported by Millsboro Ambulance 83. Patient was transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma and the scene was placed under control. Units Responding: 77-0, Rescue 77, 77-2, Ambulance 93, Medic 103, EMS 100 & 200, Trooper 4, Ambulance 83
